Antique Dutch Gothic Chalice Ref 7968

Antique Dutch Gothic Chalice and Paten in solid silver gilt, dating from the early 20th century.
Both Chalice and Paten are made in solid silver and are gilded throughout.
The Cup is engraved with 'Calicem salutaris accipiam et nomen domini invocabo' in Gothic style lettering.
Below the engraving is a small calix in decorative work set with six small red stones.
The hexagonal stem is engraved with Gothic style arches.
The knop has decoration all over with grapes and foliage. There are six round pale blue and gold enamels of 'JESUS+', edged with fine beading.
The hexafoil petalled base is set with six large teardrop shaped deep blue & gold enamels. These include The Crucifixion, St Joseph, Our Lady, St Catherine and St Francis.
The base is further finished with decorative work and small red and purple coloured stones.
The base steps down to the bottom, with lattice work cut out to the edge.
The well shaped Paten is also made in solid silver gilt and fits the Chalice well. It has an engraved cross design to the centre.
Chalice height 25cm. Base diameter 17.5cm. Diameter of top of cup 12.5cm. Diameter of Paten 15cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 1,150g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
