Antique Belgian Gothic Chalice Ref 8008

Antique Belgian Gothic Chalice and Paten in solid silver gilt, dating from the late 19th century.
Both Chalice and Paten are made in solid silver and are gilded throughout.
The Cup is engraved with 'Hic est enim calix sanguinis mei' in Gothic style lettering.
Below the engraving is a small calix in decorative filigree work.
The hexagonal stem is engraved with Gothic style crosses.
The knop is set with six lozenges each with an engraved Gothic cross.
The hexafoil petalled base is set with six contrasting engraved round silver plaques. These depict the Four Evangelists, alongside Christ and Our Lady.
The base steps down to the bottom, with lattice work cut out to the edge.
The matching well shaped Paten is also made in solid silver gilt and fits the Chalice well. It has an engraved Agnus Dei design to the centre.
Silver gilt Scruple Spoon with barley twisted stem. Length 8cm.
Chalice height 24cm. Base diameter 16cm. Diameter of top of cup 10.5cm. Diameter of Paten 15cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 756g.
Complete with original lined, fitted carrying case with decorative brass handle to the top.
