Antique Belgian Gothic Chalice Ref 8166

Antique Belgian Gothic Chalice and Paten with spoon in solid silver gilt, dating from around 1910.
All pieces are made in solid silver and are gilded throughout.
The Cup is engraved with 'Calicem salutaris accipiam et nomen domini invocabo' in Gothic style lettering.
Below the engraving is a small calix in floral filigree work set with six small red stones.
The hexagonal stem is finished with Gothic style arches worked in blue, red and gold enamel.
The knop is made entirely in filigree work and is set with six coloured stones.
The hexafoil petalled base is set with six large teardrop shaped blue & gold enamels. These depict The Crucifixion, Our Lady, St Aloysius Gonzaga, St John the Evangelist, St Joseph and Blessed Peter Fereri.
The base is further finished with decorative work and small coloured stones.
The base steps down to the bottom, and is finished with small Gothic crosses cut out.
The matching dish shaped Paten is also made in solid silver gilt. It has an engraved cross.
Also with this Chalice is an attractive Scruple Spoon with twisted stem and decorative top.
Chalice height 23cm. Base diameter 17cm. Diameter of top of cup 11.5cm. Diameter of Paten 15cm. Length of spoon 9.5cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 1,028g.
Complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
