English Sterling Silver Gothic Chalice, Ref 8006
English Gothic Chalice & Paten in solid sterling silver.
Chalice and Paten both made by in London, England in 1874, and both have the silversmith's initials 'J.B'.
Chalice and Paten are both hallmarked with English sterling silver hallmarks and the maker's name.
The cup is finished with Gothic style floral designs. It is gilded inside.
The plain hexagonal stem has a decorative central knop, set with six large coloured purple and yellow stones.
The hexafoil petalled base has a cross engraved to one side, and decorative steps down.
The matching well shaped Paten is gilded to the top side and fits the Chalice well. It has fine engraved lettering to the edges, with the Pious Pelican engraved in the centre.
Chalice height 19.5cm. Base diameter 14.5cm. Diameter of top of cup 10.5cm. Diameter of Paten 16.5cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 713g.
The Chalice comes complete with brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
