English Sterling Silver Chalice & Paten Ref 8867
English Gothic Chalice & Paten in solid sterling silver.
Chalice made in Birmingham, in 1973, by the silversmiths AE Jones Ltd, and has the maker's mark stamped on it.
Blending Paten made in London in 1861.
Chalice and Paten are both hallmarked with English sterling silver hallmarks.
The cup to the Chalice is plain and is gilded inside.
The hexagonal stem is plain and has a large central hexagonal knop, with engraving to each of the six points.
The hexafoil petalled base has a gilded cross set on one petal.
The blending well shaped Paten is in solid silver, gilded all over. It fits the Chalice well.
Chalice height 21.5cm. Base diameter 14cm. Diameter of top of cup 10cm. Diameter of Paten 15.5cm. Overall weight of Chalice & Paten 815g.
