Antique Sunburst Monstrance Ref 9049
Large brass gilt antique French sunburst Monstrance, complete with solid silver Lunette & carrying case.
Made around the late 19th/early 20th century, with the Lunette bearing the maker's mark 'JP'.
The cross at the top is finished with coloured stones to eh centre and decoration throughout.
The sunburst has a decorative central part, with bunches of grapes throughout. It is set with coloured stones all round.
The central Gloria is surrounded with diamante style stones.
The circular stem leads to the large central hexafoil knop, set with further coloured stones and decoration.
The hexafoil petalled base has bunches of grapes to each petal.
The base steps down with fine beading and engraving, to the decorative feet on which the Monstrance stands.
The Monstrance comes complete with the original solid silver gilt Lunette, enclosed with glass to both sides. It fits the Monstrance well.
The Monstrance height is 84cm. The width across the sunburst top is 43cm & the base is 27cm across the maximum points. The weight of the Monstrance is 2,400g.
The Monstrance comes complete with a brand new lined, fitted carrying case.
