Ref 6769. Antique 19th century French Banner to St Joseph
The Banner is made in red velvet with rich gold bullion embroidery throughout.
In the centre is a large image of St Joseph, embroidered in fine detail in coloured silk threads; this image is worked on a deep green pressed velvet background.
The bottom edge is scalloped and is finished with rich, heavy gold bullion fringe and gold bullion tassels.
The banner is fully lined, & there are tabs across the top for the rod to be inserted.
The overall size of the banner is 166cm x 98cm.
Supplied with a wooden banner pole with brass crosses to the ends, which fits the banner for carrying in procession.
